Great Lakes Maritime Transportation Summer Educator Institute
July 20-25, 2008
Explore the historical, economical and environmental aspects of Great Lakes shipping at the “head of the lakes.” Based in Duluth, participants will tour the Duluth-Superior harbor, Minnesota north shore, and meet with industry to better understand the various cargoes shipped, and how it is managed and regulated.

GLMRI Hosts Fall Meetings

Sep 23-25, 2009, the GLMRI Advisory Board met in Superior, WI, with presentations by project principal investigators and affiliate universities. A highlight: presentation by Dr. Sandra Knight who chairs the Committee on the Marine Transportation System (CMTS) Action Team for Research and Development.

GLMRI Receives $950,000

Funds to continue developing and improving economically and environmentally sustainable maritime commerce on the Great Lakes throughout the region.
